JRLMSS Test R&D Car at Crisp Motorsports Park

Cordele Ga. Nov 8th, 2020. The Newly formed Jr Late Model Spectacular Series made its maiden run at Crisp Motorsports Park over the weekend with R&D driver Grant Thompson.  The “Spec” Jr Late Model was prepared by Jimmy Garmon and will be one of three cars fielded by John Thompson’s Proactive Motorsports arrive and drive program.  “The test was a huge success as the car actually performed better than expected for the first time on the track,” said Thompson. The series will be conducting an additional test at Veterans Motor Plex, Florence Speedway, and Huntsville Speedway in late March.

More information will be available soon including race dates, and the publication of the JLMSS Rules and Procedures on March 5th.  In addition, plans are in motion to launch a “Jr Late Model Driver School” starting April. The school was designed to give young racers between the ages of 10 and 15 the opportunity to attend a three-day all-inclusive school at Crisp Motorsports Park in Cordele, GA.  Students will have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a full-size 340HP Jr Late Model, attend seminars designed for both the driver and parents that will cover a variety of subject matter essential to a successful career in motorsports. Each student will spend time in the shop learning the basic setup and terminology required to make the transition to a full-size race car.
